Clash Photo is Mike Lewis, Photographer.
Focusing primarily on fashion, music, and any type of creative portraiture, Mike approaches photography as a vehicle for artistic expression or narrative rather than a means of recording reality.
Mike started out as a filmmaker, attending the School for Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University. He picked up his first still camera at the age of 21 in hopes of improving his eye as a cinematographer. Mike immediately fell in love with still photography and over the next few years, he devoted more and more attention to honing his craft as a photographer, even studying photography abroad at the University of Western England in Bristol, UK.
Not abandoning film making altogether, Mike recently received two Best Director nominations at the Leo Awards for his Music Video and Short Film. He also co-wrote (with brother, Mark A. Lewis) the feature-length horror movie, The Thaw (2008), starring Val Kilmer and Martha MacIsaac.
As a photographer, Mike continues to push himself to further creative heights and commercial success. He works primarily from his studio on Main Street in Vancouver and shoots with the highest standard of digital Medium Format technology.
